Workshops
no.w.here runs regular workshops on the equipment available in the lab. We also run wide ranging thematic workshops that combine philosophical and practical ways of thinking and using film and video, and develop bespoke workshops with visiting artists. Our workshops can be delivered both on and offsite.

All courses at no.w.here fill up quickly and spaces are only available on a strictly first come, first serve basis. Payment can be made by card over the phone or by cash or cheque by prior arrangement.

Cancellations policy

In the event of no.w.here having to cancel or postpone a course you are entitled to a full refund. If you cannot attend a workshop you have booked, a 50% refund is available with 6 to 10 days notice. Absolutely no refunds can be made 5 days before the workshop.

The Jonas Mekas Diary Film Project
Project open to students of University of the Arts London, and Serpentine Gallery and the BFI's education programmes by application only. Project blog is at: http://diaryfilmworkshop.wordpress.com
A unique collaboration between no.w.here, University of the Arts London, the BFI, the Serpentine Gallery, and I-Dailies. LOST LOST LOST will provide participants the opportunity to produce a piece of moving image work in response to the Jonas Mekas exhibition and screenings taking place at the Serpentine Gallery and BFI in December 2012.

DIY film emulsion!

Participants at this Handmade Emulsion Workshop will learn how to mix black and white film emulsion from scratch, using the basic ingredients of silver nitrate, potassium bromide, water, and shop-bought gelatine used for puddings!


Super 8 shooting and colour hand processing

Perfect for beginners and experienced users of film alike, this intensive, hands on course that takes you through the Super 8 camera, stocks, shooting film, and hand processing. Examining cameras and their features, film stock, exposure, light meters and filters, participants shoot Ektachrome 100d super 8 stock and learn how to hand process this film using the Lomo developing tank.

In this workshop, participants will begin by shooting a roll of 16mm film as a group and then we will develop it as a negative. After this, the fun begins...
