The rostrum animation camera is a wonderfully versatile creative tool, which can be used for filming titles, objects, or photographs onto 16mm film. The table can be moved in any direction or rotated 360 degrees, and can be focused down to the size of a 35mm slide. This workshop takes you through the rostrum camera, metering the light for the camera, console operation - then loading the magazine in the dark, then shooting and hand processing a test onto black and white 16mm film using images, objects, or texts which participants should bring with them. The workshop ends with a Steenbeck analysis of all the films made on the course.
