Unconscious in the woods

Unconscious Archives decamps to Suffolk to present a curated program of live and expanded cinema specially for the Latitude Festival 2013.

Expanded screen stalwart Greg Pope (UK / Norway) presents a live 16mm performance of Cipher Screen, a live art piece using 2 prepared 16mm film projectors with black film loops and with a live sound manipulation by microscopic sound amplifier Lee Patterson (UK)

Early film colour processes manifest themselves in James Holcombe’s (UK) piece Soviet Tanks, a new expanded piece for multiple 16mm projectors and circuit bent electronics which unlocks and reworks the sonic potentials of optical sound hidden in the grooves of film developing spirals.

Finally, small format alchemist and hi-hat hit factory Hugh Metcalfe (UK) presents a live selection of his Super 8 films accompanied by him in grand and inimitable style.
